Voice Chat

I heard that the game is going to have its own built in Voice Chat.

I was wondering if the guild had its own little voice chat thing going on now? I enjoy chatting as I do other things, and wouldn't mind getting use to your voices before the game comes out.

I am not sure on programs but I could look it up and if its not going to be a huge number I don't mind funding such a thing if it will help the guild out.

Well how many of you are for a pre-game voice chat?

For meetings or just to gather to talk about roleplays, characters, starwars and get to know one another. If we can get atleast few people good for the idea I wont mind looking up such voice programs.

We had talked a few months ago about getting vent but I'm not entirely sure if that's developed yet.

I would be fine with it, but I currently have to share a room with my brother, but that will change in late August to mid September when we move.

Thats fine, the game isn't going to be released before then anyway.

As Darth Atrer said we have discussed getting Vent, but haven't progressed further than that. We'll price up a vent server and try and sort it out when the Bythion is back.

There is also "Raidcall", but I don't know if that is better or worst than vent.

a in game voice chat is just asking for lag i say ventrillo.

One of the main reasons I lean towards Ventrilo over other voice chat programs is its minimal amount of memory and processor power needed to run it. It runs small and smoothly in the background. Plus its one of the few chat programs that has quality sound.

As for ingame voice chat. I ran EQ2 and its ingame voice chat just fine with no lag. I have heard of people getting lag because of it, but I never suffered such a thing.

the fact that Vent is so widely used suggests that it is likely the best, (I don't know allot about the others) so I would support getting Vent.
